Before I start on my Korea Trip, let me talk about how's my life so far. This year is my last year in Secondary school, I've already graduated. I'm currently waiting for my GCE Ordinary Level ( 'O' Level ) results which will release on January 2016. During this year, many things had happened. I've gone through a lot of emotions. 'O' Level made me very stress, I've to study very hard because Secondary 4 to Secondary 5 gap is huge. In the mid-way of my examinations, I ask to end a 2 years relationship. Even though I still love him, I choose to do that because I felt that God wanted me to do so. I choose to obey Him and let God lead the way. There's also other reasons but I think I will write a blog regarding this another time. This relationship was once very important to me, therefore, when I end it, I was having a very hard time going through all my emotions. I found out that this year things happened one after another. So, after the relationship, followed by friendship. I don't know whether is it a misunderstanding but I'm glad that they are willing to talk it out when everyone is free. I think is more of a miscommunication.
Yes, that's right. As things happened one after another, I have to deal with it and leave my feelings aside, and concentrate on my study. I must admit that I waver a lot and sometimes I do get affected by it. However, it is only that I went through a lot that I ended up running back to God. God really healed me a little by little as time passed by. Is God that make me stronger and happier.
This verse really helps me a lot during those emotional time. Said in Isaiah 41: 10 -- " Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. "
Hence, for those who are facing any sort of difficulties in life, don't give up, don't lose hope. Have faith in God. For He promises you to catch you when you fall and He will walk through it with you.
Okay, that's enough of me, lets talk about my Korea trip! So, as you can see in the title I went to Korea recently on the 9th of November until the 13th of November. I went to Korea with my mother. It was Autumn when I went there, the temperature was around 7-10 degree celsius, I guess. I really have a lot of fun there, how I wish I can stay longer. My flight was at 1:35 am, however it was delayed to 4am if I remember correctly. Korea timing was one hour ahead of Singapore. It was a 6 hours and 5 minutes flight, thus, by the time I've reached Korea, it was already 11am. So, upon arrival in Seoul Incheon International airport, a taxi driver came to fetch us to our hotel ( Myeongdong, The Grand ) . When I've reached my hotel, I checked-in. I was surprised that the room was spotless and cozy. I really enjoyed my stay there. The workers in the hotel are so kind and friendly. I was sick the day before , thus, I was still a little sick on my first day in Seoul. Therefore, I choose to rest for two hours before heading out for a little shopping and also the Nanta show. After the Nanta show, my mother and I went walking around Myeongdong. We have dinner near our hotel and also ate some street food there. During night time, the street is very vivacious.
The second day, my mother and I over slept. We were so guilty about it because we let our tour guide, Matt waited for us for very long. We ended up having a late breakfast in the hotel before leaving. We head to Everland after that, I really like Everland. It's colossal and beautiful there. As it is Autumn season the scenery was really amazing. I'm glad that I went during Autumn season. Ohhh~ I played the T-express ( roller coaster ) with my mother and Matt. It was really scary, my mother closed her eyes all the way. It felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest. After that I went to SM Town at Gangnam then followed by Dragonhill Spa. After our dinner ( Korean BBQ ) we head back to our hotel.
The thrid day, Kevin was our tour guide. We went to Gangchon Rail Bike, it was freezing but it's worth because the scenary there was beautiful. Then we went Nami Island and also have our lunch there. Followed by Petit France, I've watched a puppet show there. Althrough I can't really understand the language but it was a nice experience. All these are at the country side so we head back to Seoul after all these. We have our dinner near our hotel and head back to our hotel. We came out to the street after staying a while in the hotel because we have to do some shoppings for family and friends.
The fourth day, Kevin brought us to Gyeongbokgung Palace then Bukchon Hanok Village then Insadong Street. In Insadong Street, I do some shopping there, I tried the hanbok ( Korean traditional costume ) and I brought one back to Singapore too. I also have my lunch there. The next day will be my last day in Korea so Kevin is so nice to add a few more places I wanted to go to. We went to a shopping mall to get my firend's Bigbang album then we went to the Sheep cafe followed by Dongdaemun Market to do some shopping. Kevin help my mother and I to asked for discount. Lastly we went to Seoul Tower which is on the top of a mountain. The scenary there was exquisite. After that we went to Myeongdong for Shabu Shabu, it was very delicious. Then we head back to our hotel.
The fifth day which is also our last day in Korea. I was sad to say goodbye. Before heading to the airport, I go for a cooking class. I've learnt how to make Kimchi and I was allowed to bring the Kimchi back to Singapore. After cooking class, Kevin drive in to Ewha Womans University ( the best university in Korea ) to let me see how the university there looks like. Then we head off to airport, we have our lunch there as well. Matt is so nice that he came to send me off on his day off. We had lunch together near the airport, at the sea side. It was quite a emotional moment at the airport. Thanks to Matt and Kevin, I had a lot of fun in Korea. I will defintely visit Korea again soon.
For your informtion, the trip was paid by the Make-A-Wish foundation. Matt and Kevin is from This is KOREA agency, please click This is KOREA to know more about them. If you want to see the photos I took in Korea, please click here.
